PLANNING: LOCATION RECCE

The different locations for our film trailer will be based in the same place. We decided that our school grounds would be best suited to our storyline of the film trailer as there are a range of rooms with different aesthetics. The opening shot will be of the exterior of the building, we will then move in the building and focus shooting in the basement. The basement is very dark and cold, this will be where the confidential institution will be, the white walls are very appropriate for this. 

 

PLANNING: INITIAL DEVELOPMENT

 Planning a film involves a lot of brainstorming to come up with the perfect idea for our film trailer, this is what my group and I did. We created a mind-map to give us a clear idea of what props, location, genre, plot and characters we would like in our film trailer. With help from the whole group we came up with an idea for the plot which we can finalise further into the planning. The film trailer will be set in the 1960s and we will present this through mine-en-scene. One prop we will use that will convey this is cod-liver which was a dietary supplement that was used in the 1960's within boarding schools to give to students.
